Demorest’s automatic-assistance pact with Habersham County expands, but new streets remain unnamed

Demorest’s automatic-assistance arrangement with Habersham County was expanded to include additional streets by Oct. 1, 2024, according to City Council minutes, but the city did not identify the newly added roads or publish the revised agreement’s final terms in that record. The minutes say Fire Chief Scheuerer needed council approval to sign the modified Memorandum of Understanding.
