Demorest reports state approval for Hazel and Georgia streetscape grant

Demorest’s Downtown Development Authority reported March 5, 2025, that the Georgia Department of Transportation approved a streetscaping grant for Hazel and Georgia streets, placing the prospect of state-backed improvements on two downtown corridors. The authority’s meeting minutes identified the streetscape proposal as one of two approved applications out of three the city had submitted to GDOT.
