Demorest Weighs PTSD Benefit Level for Police and Fire Responders

Demorest’s mayor and City Council discussed moving forward with a Georgia Municipal Association proposal to provide post-traumatic stress disorder coverage for the city’s police and fire first responders during a Feb. 4, 2025 work session. The discussion pointed toward the state-required $3,000 lifetime diagnosis benefit while officials continued researching whether a higher limit should be offered.
