Demorest’s Proposed Public-Comment Rules Remain Unsettled More Than Two Years After Retreat

More than two years after Demorest City Council raised the possibility of changing how residents address the city at meetings, the proposed rules remain undecided. At a March 23, 2024 council retreat, officials discussed time limits for public comment, public notice of any limits and a guest sign-in process; as of Aug. 27, 2026, no documented council action has established any of those procedures.
