Demorest’s ARPA Plans Stalled by Unresolved Sewer-Bore Contract Costs

Demorest City Council’s most recent documented discussion of American Rescue Plan Act spending ended without an allocation. At its Nov. 12, 2024 meeting, officials again reviewed possible water-system, fire-protection and grant-related projects, but said the list could not be voted on while costs associated with the sewer-bore contract remained unresolved. The minutes do not record a later decision on the proposed uses or any amount approved for them.
