Demorest police needs remain a planning item, not an approved purchase

Demorest City Council’s March 23, 2024 retreat put a range of police department needs before city leaders, including a task-timeline goal to purchase barricades within four years and a $4,000 ballistic shield within one year. But the signed retreat minutes show the items as planning needs: they do not record a council vote, spending authorization or completed purchase.
