Demorest Weighs Equipment Purchase to Keep Lead-Line Inventory Work In House

Demorest City Council on Sept. 3, 2024, considered a water-department request to buy a $33,995 ground-penetrating radar unit and an $88,298.34 Bobcat to help city staff complete a lead and copper inventory in house. The proposal contemplated trading in the city’s current Bobcat and combining potential Georgia Environmental Finance Authority grant support with American Rescue Plan Act funds.
