Demorest’s documented downtown spending was for Halloween, not a tree-lighting
Demorest’s Downtown Development Authority unanimously approved up to $400 for hot dogs, chips and beverages for the city’s Oct. 31, 2025 Halloween event at its Oct. 1 meeting. The signed minutes also list a Dec. 4 tree-lighting performance and Santa appearance, but the recorded governmental action was the Halloween-food contribution, not an approval of holiday-event spending.
