Demorest Event Plan Put Post Office Parking Access and Police Support in Focus

Demorest’s Feb. 4, 2025 City Council work-session minutes put a planned Holden Oversoul crawfish boil and oyster roast at the center of a public-access and policing question: whether the post office parking lot could be closed beginning at midnight before the March 2 event and patrolled by police. The minutes say Police Chief Chastain agreed to the proposed closure and patrols, while not recording a Council vote on the request.
