Demorest commits $130,000 in SPLOST funds to Panther Creek project

Demorest City Council unanimously voted Sept. 3, 2024, to accept and move forward with the Panther Creek project, committing an estimated $130,000 in Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenue to an effort Mayor Rick Harkness said is required by the Georgia Department of Transportation. The signed minutes record a 4-0 vote directing the city to proceed.
