Cornelia Water Authority’s July 28 agenda again listed a proposed $200,250 effort to identify 1,691 water service lines whose material remains unknown, naming Mack Jones Enterprises as the selected contractor. The repeated agenda item is consequential because it would address more than half of the 2,855 service lines counted in the authority’s system, yet the agenda does not show that the authority approved the work or that field identification has started.

The next meaningful public development would be Water Authority minutes or another official record showing whether members authorized the inventory and, if so, the project’s terms and schedule. Residents still do not have an official answer on whether Mack Jones Enterprises has been hired, whether identification work is underway, or when the 1,691 unknown service lines may be classified.
