The story
In September 2025, the Cornelia City Commission's agenda listed proposals for the city's FY25 financial audit for consideration.
At that same meeting, the commission voted 4-0 to approve the audit proposals and, on a motion from Commissioner Reed seconded by Commissioner Griggs, voted 4-0 to hire Rushton to perform the audit, at a cost of $45,000.
Commissioners also discussed audit findings at the meeting. Mayor Borrow asked whether the audit came back unmodified, and Ms. Chandler said it did, without any issues.
