The Cornelia City Commission voted 3-0 to have the mayor sign a proclamation declaring February 20, 2026 as Arbor Day, after Commissioner Reed moved and Commissioner Bagwell seconded.
A city manager's report noted the city met the criteria to be recognized as a Tree City for the 36th year in a row, and described an Arbor Day tree planting on Front Street.
