The Clarkesville City Council voted 4-0 to approve the purchase of 555 Monroe Street for one million one hundred ninety thousand dollars, on a motion by Council Member Franklin Brown.
About two months later, Council Member Coppedge asked for an update on the closing of the property, referred to as the courthouse property. Council was told everything was on track for the purchase to close.
