The story
In July 2025, the Clarkesville Mayor and City Council recognized Police Officer Terry Palmer, who had been honored by the Georgia Fraternal Order of Police for what the council's records describe as a heroic act of valor and life-saving measures.
The recognition continued in March 2026, when Police Chief Clouatre told the council that a resolution had been read publicly at the Georgia House and Senate to recognize Palmer for his life-saving measures.
