At a Jan. 6, 2025 work session, city staff updated the council on ARPA funds along with the Mary Street bathrooms and waterline extension project. In that update, city staff said all ARPA funds had been fully expended and that arrangements had been made to prepay for a new public safety radio system.
On July 7, 2025, the Mayor and City Council took up an intergovernmental agreement with Habersham County for the Northeast Georgia Regional Radio Network, described as running until June 30, 2026. Mayor Pro-Tempore Franklin Brown made a motion to approve the agreement, and the council approved it 5-0.
