The Clarkesville City Council was scheduled to discuss and vote on an alcohol license for Venera Liquors LLC, doing business as Monroe Package Store, to sell package beer, wine and liquor at 332 Monroe St. Suite 2.
At the September 8, 2025 meeting, the council approved the license on a 4-0 vote. Mayor Pro Tempore Franklin Brown made the motion, with approval made dependent upon satisfactory criminal history results.
