On its second reading, the Toccoa City Commission unanimously adopted the Hotel/Motel Ordinance with specified amendments.

On March 12, 2012, the Toccoa City Commission unanimously approved a resolution imposing an 8% excise tax on rooms, lodgings and accommodations and directing that it be presented to the Georgia General Assembly for consideration.

On September 13, 2010, the City Commission approved the second reading setting the 2010 millage rate at 7.19 mills, plus 0.75 mills for properties in the downtown district. The motion passed 3–1, with Commissioner Pavliscsak voting no.
